That's what the Peppermill was for us this time around. Smoke from a massive brush fire south of Reno shut down the amazing outdoor pool.
So, my face was really sad. Until I tasted the Cabernet-butter poached salmon with swiss char and mushrooms at Biminis. And then I got a smelly-good rubdown into oblivion by Jonathan or Chaz or something while hanging out in the warm Calderium/jacuzzi/sauna. Mmmmm, ya'll. Soooo gooood. Mama's ready to start classes now. hahahahha

Book: Wicca for Beginners, by Thea Sabin
I know what you're thinking. WTF, Nyssa. But seriously, this book reveals that Wiccans are actually all about many paths to deity/God/Goddess and about putting positive things out into the universe. I'm actually really surprised with how much of Wicca resonates with The Secret. Also surprising (only because I'm completely new to this), Wiccans are into meditating and finding your higher self and purpose, while learning your own powers and connections to everything and everyone in the world. A great read for the spa and I'm super excited to get into some of the exercise chapters.

Wine: 2009 Bogle Cabernet Sauvignon. Kind of a burn-y sensation at first, until we had Caprese/Borrata– cheese/tomato/arugula/balsamic appetizer = muted to a nice, subtle Cabernet. Because I've been drinking nothing but cucumber–lemon water and eating high-fiber spa snacks all day, I'm feeling the wine quite a bit (13.5% heeeey).
Life: Did I mention we went to the spa? Fantastic. Despite the pool shutdown. And now it's pouring rain (rare for Reno) and snow's in the near future so a nice, low-key weekend on store. Maybe taking a hiatus from wine when the running starts back up again, so I'll have to exchange "wine" for "food" or something OH THAT REMINDS ME. We're planning to make Cannolis this weekend (in honor of Biscuits' amazing Italian restaurant and because I have a fabulous new fryer), so we went out this evening to look for metal tubes to roll them around when frying. Of course Walmart doesn't sell them, so we found the next closest thing:

I researched it further and found that some people simply use rolled up tinfoil. (And I don't even know what these are ACTUALLY used for. But they're more expensive than tinfoil lol). Meh. I'll keep ya posted.
